Isn’t it amazing that when the world seemed lost & sliding into a dystopian colourless future that Trump

should step forward . Is he the new Messiah (only joking ) but in a strange way that is how he is viewed by his followers . He may not be the most eloquent speaker (JD is in another league) but he is like a bulldozer pushing the world in the right direction .

Dearest Alex, I have the highest regard for your insights! This is a very interesting and encouraging analysis...I definitely got the sense that during Trump's visit the UK was being treated benevolently - like a cousin heading down the wrong path. It's also in the the US administration's best interests that we don't turn into a complete authoritarian hell hole - they see that we are in a full scale existential crisis! It's usual for them to look out for their own best interests, right now it's ensuring we remain a dependable ally. I think you are right on the money here! Excellent work!

Alex, great analysis.i also think Trump’s tariffs are a defence against the greenback being replaced as THE reserve currency.

Dear Alex, first post on here - like many, I've just joined.

The USA entered into loan agreements with the UK during and after WW2.

The Marshall Plan was not really a commercial loan arrangement, which did benefit countries like Germany.

I think the UK should not expect hand-outs.

This should be a loan, to allow the 50% of the economy located in the Public Sector to be trimmed back and boost commerce - so enabling pay-back of the loan.

We should not expect an income.

It has to be earned - and that means continuing to compete for business around the world.

One of the worst decisions made in terms of National Monetary Policy, was moving from the Gold Standard as the level of National Wealth. I remember Harold Wilson PM, shprtly after making a Natuonal Broadcast introducing a New word into common usage, Inflatipn, nothi g to worry about he said, there wull be no difference to your spendi g power.

The next worse decision? Fractuonal Reserve Banking, they spent the gold, then raided your money and savings, now....? There's almost FA left except the credit card.
