A Congregation that needs a Church

A remarkable story of a 'cancelled' anti-woke Reverend, and his project to save a Church https://democracythree.org/saveachurch

Reverend Canon Father Phil Harris is a dear, dear friend of mine.

He knows when I need comfort, and his Whatsapp lands in my inbox before I even reach out to him! He has been my counsel, my guide and my wonderful friend through some truly tough times.

Well, it’s time for me to return that kindness.

Father Phil is unapologetically honest on his social media. He criticised Keir Starmer for calling the nation “far right thugs”

He has openly called for Lucy Connolly to be released from prison.

But his candour has landed him in hot water.

The Charities Commission in their ever loyal adherence to wokeness rather took umbrage at his style, and as a result, he lost his church building, as did his devoted congregation. Despite the fact that his Bishops fully back him, and his flock have never left him. They now find themselves homeless.

By miracle, a Church building went up for sale on the exact same street. Next to a Primary School that would love to use its facilities were it to reopen as a Church. A beautiful, early 19th century Wesleyan Chapel that risks being converted into flats or a mosque.

Meanwhile, he has been conducting communion in a social club - literally doing Prayer in a Pub.

But now his flock is too big for their temporary home, and want to make the Wesleyan Chapel a place of love, hope and worship once again

All he has to do is raise 260 thousands pounds. In just 6 weeks.

It’s a big ask, but I will do what I can to help.

Which means bringing you his story.

You can donate yourself - and every pound counts - and share with others who may want to help.

If together, we could reach 260,000 people who all only gave a quid, or 26,000 who gave a tenner, we could give to Britain a new and flourishing, active Church
