‘Our’ NHS can barely do the job of keeping people alive, the backlogs in our legal system are chronic, and the past decade has shown just how rapidly the Woke agenda rewrites morality
My dad had a very rare disease SPS , it was evil what it did to his body, no body should have to suffer like that, I always said if I get it would end my life my way BUT there is no way I would trust any one in this corrupt country, the NHS are not capable of doing this with out mistakes being made.
NHS caused my dad brain damage and very nearly killed him 3 times because they were too lazy to read his notes.
I was all for it until I watched Dr Phil interviewing an expert. The things that can and do go wrong are terrifying. I can't find it on youtube anymore. Medical aid in dying (MAID).
Well - yes I do Alex. I have been a member of what used to be known as the Voluntary Euthanasia Society for more than 30 years. I have long believed that one of the issues important to many people- is the ability to have control of one’s life at every stage. I too am a Christian, and not afraid of dying. You will realise when you are older that the ‘how’ becomes more important than the ‘when’. For many years, the people of Holland have had the right to choose, and according to my Dutch friends, the system has not been abused. It is possible for people to register their wishes with the GP in advance. The proposed measure is an act of kindness when someone is suffering. One I personally would be grateful for.
I am undecided about this. People living with so much pain and suffering should be able to make a decision about their own death. However, I also see the threats of coercion against vulnerable people. Who makes the decision whether it is coercion or not? I care for my Mum with Alzheimer's. She is bedbound, incontinent and can't speak. The thought of getting this disease makes me feel i would like a choice in my own death although i realise i may like her never know that i have it.

I will never forget how he was treated .
I completely agree with you Alex. Dangerous times indeed.

I completely agree with you Alex. We are treading a fine line and this bill should not be rushed through.
Anyone who has seen what has been happening in Canada with MAID will know how assisted suicide has escalated to mental health and soon to be children.
With the NHS already determining our level of care by age, need and cost, how long before we are judge not cost efficient ourselves.
